01 General information Rotterdam
Rotterdam is an important port city located in the Dutch province of South Holland. In terms of inhabitants, Rotterdam, with more than 650,000 residents, has been the second largest city in the Netherlands for many years. In addition to being a port city, Rotterdam also has an important function in terms of shopping, culture, education and work. In recent years, Rotterdam has developed enormously in the field of tourism. After the bombardment in the Second World War, Rotterdam was rebuilt again and can be recognized by its modern architecture.



02 What's going on in Rotterdam
THE POPULATION OF ROTTERDAM

The largest age group are the millennials, people between 20 and 40. They are mainly here for the large study offer, employment and entertainment opportunities. They are taken into the hustle and bustle of the city. Yet there is a lot of loneliness among this target group.

In addition, this group is experiencing enormous pressure. Especially the pressure to perform, present at school, work and in social life. Due to social media, we are constantly confronted with other people's successes. We are going to compare ourselves with others and that causes great pressure. 1 out of 3 experiences this pressure.



03 A typical millennial
Millennials, also known as Generation Y, is a generation born between 1980 and 2000. They have evolved in the new millennium. This is where the name comes from.


CHARACTERISTICS
1. Growing up in a period of rapid technological progress.
2. Strive for developmen.
3. Difficult to find a balance between work and private life.
4. Choice stress.
5. In for challenges.
6. More often at the psychologist than previous generations.
7. Environmentally conscious.
Nurtured and pampered by parents who didn't want to make the mistakes of the previous generation, millennials are confident, ambitious, and achievement-oriented. They also have high expectations of their employers, tend to seek new challenges at work, and aren't afraid to question authority.
